Sri Padasthana is a masterpiece of nature that has been revered for centuries. This is a sacred place located in the central hills of Sri Lanka. The sunrise here is extremely spectacular. This is also known as Samanala Kanda. This Sri Padasthana is located close to many parts of Sri Lanka. It is located on one side to the south of the Central Highlands of Ratnapura in the Sabaragamuwa Province and on the other side towards the Nuwara Eliya District of the Central Province.


    There is a large footprint on the top of this hill. Buddhists in Sri Lanka believe that it is the left footprint of the Supreme Buddha. During the period from June to October the area is generally cloudy with a chance of showers and fog. But some adventure lovers decide to climb Adam's Mountain in their spare time. Mostly during the day. This pilgrimage season begins in the month of December. That is on the day of Uduwap ​​Poya. It ends on Vesak Poya Day. The pilgrim who ascends the Sri Pada for the first time is called the "Kodukara" and must bathe in the stream known as the "Sitha Gagula". Sri Pada is known as "Samantha Koota" in the Deepavamsa. Pilgrims pray to each other for the help of the god Sumana Saman on their journey to Siripa. Buddhists believe that Sumana Saman, the god who guards the sacred foot of the Supreme Buddha, resides at the top of the mountain. These are some of the special words used by the devotees of Siripa pilgrimage. Nade, Nade Guru, Kodu, Kodukaraya, Light, Snow, Kindness, Pevima, Oral, Kode, Ambalama, Padma, to name a few.

        


    This sacred place is full of beautiful beauty and splendor. Everyone from home and abroad comes to pay homage to this. This is an ancient shrine. There is no end to what can be said about this historic shrine.
